Una Venezia pigra l’aspettava di fuori, adagiata sulla rovente sera d’estate, come una matrona sicura della propria bellezza. Mollemente cullata dai vaporetti e dalle innumerevoli gondole, che portavano i turisti a sognare solcando le acque fresche dei suoi canali, dava l’impressione di essersi svegliata da poco.
Chiara restò per qualche minuto a osservare come ipnotizzata quello scenario che non deludeva mai.
Il Canal Grande era un tripudio di colori e di barche, vaporetti, gondole che filavano veloci, spinte solo dalla forza di robusti gondolieri. Alcuni turisti, per provare l’ebbrezza dell’originale natante, ne noleggiavano solo per attraversare il Canal Grande, facendosi traghettare al costo di sei euro sulla sponda opposta. Erano proprio queste imbarcazioni a rischiare una collisione, poiché attraversavano il Canale, come pedoni in un’autostrada.
Alcuni dei battelli già iniziavano ad accendere le luci di posizione. I gondolieri, invece, si apprestavano ad appicciare il fuoco ai caratteristici lumi, le cui fiammelle tremule avrebbero donato maggiore romanticismo al particolare viaggio dei loro ospiti.
My book “Una morte sola non basta”, (Will be the English: “One death is not enough” ), published by the well-known Italian editor Del Vecchio, is in these days exposed at the most important Italian bookfair Piùlibripiùliberi, set in Rome at the new Congress Palace, known as The Cloud, for its original structure. The book deals with a very delicate topic as the violence on children, and the plot is set in the city of Rome’s fascinating frame, photographed in its simplicity of the Fifties, in the economic improvement of the Sixties, to the social contradictions of the Seventies. The book has obtained wonderful reviews by Italian literary critics and from readers. It is defined A great neo-realistic novel.
